How do I know if I really need this?  

The 5 Day Detox is for you if:  

  • You reach for a can of diet soft drink and a chocolate biscuit when the clock hits 3:00 PM.
  • You know you want to eat better, but you’re just not sure where to start.
  • You usually eat pretty well, but find yourself craving the opportunity to lighten up this season.

Am I going to be starving all week? 

Nope! This isn’t about counting calories or limiting the amount of food you consume. During these 5 days, we’re simply removing all the junk from your diet and resetting with whole, real food. If you’re hungry, eat! It’s so important to listen to your body and learn how to fuel it properly. 

Is this a vegetarian or vegan meal plan?  

Not at all. While I do promote eating as many plants as possible, this meal plan includes eggs, fish, and poultry. It’s easily adaptable for any lifestyle or diet – from vegan to paleo and everything in between. 

Why do this anyway? Don’t our bodies already know how to cleanse?  

In theory yes, but we live in a toxic world and we’re exposed to pollutants on a daily basis, whether it’s pesticides in our food, fumes from traffic, or even toxic materials used to make our computers and phones.  

Our bodies can only handle so much toxic input at a time, and when we get overloaded, we often experience negative symptoms like headaches, irritability, belly fat, bloating, breakouts, fatigue, and so much more. 

This week is about controlling what we can in our environment through food. And the foods you will be eating help to naturally boost our body’s detoxification systems.

When our bodies get overexposed to toxins, our liver does the best job it can to protect us, and it does this by wrapping toxins in mucous and storing them in fat cells. (Um, yuck.) The problem with that is when we have a toxin stored in our fat, we can’t burn that fat until we release and process that toxin! The reality is that no matter how much you exercise, eat right, and manage your stress, you won’t be able to lose that stubborn fat until you partake in a detox and get rid of those toxins for good.
